COMING SOON: THE TOWN THAT DREADED SUNDOWN

This is a movie I'm looking forward to seeing very soon in the near future when it is finally released. I loved the original classic horror film, now I just wonder what will the remake be like? Will it be a carbon copy or complete garbage? What do you think?

Here's what the synopsis reads, " 65 years after a masked serial killer terrorized the small town of Texarkana, the so-called 'moonlight murders' begin again. Is it a copycat or something even more sinister? A lonely high school girl, with dark secrets of her own, may be the key to catching him."

MOVIE TO CHECK OUT: Snowpiercer

Now here is a film, that has all the sci-fi elements. A non-stop train that goes round and round the earth for decades. If you watch this film, you will see the varying social class that rides this non-stop train. I will say this film should be considered a modern classic. I truly enjoyed it. Sci-fi at its best truly. The story revolves about a ban of people lead by Chris Evan's character Curtis, his primary goal is to control the train and he will do everything in his might to reach the front of the train.

The synopsis reads: "In a future where a failed global-warming experiment kills off all life on the planet except for a lucky few that boarded the Snowpiercer, a train that travels around the globe, where a class system evolves."

I must tell you people have to see this film. It is a classic tale of the haves and the haves nots, and its an amazing journey.  Please check it out.

I give this movie FOUR SPACE ROCKETS outta FIVE.

Check out the trailer here:

Enjoy!

MOVIE TO CHECK OUT: Grand Piano

You like a taunt thrillers? Maybe you should check out Grand Piano. To some this may feel like a by the numbers story, but I felt the film had enough mystery and tension to keep my interest.

The synopsis of the story goes, " Moments before Tom Selznick’s comeback performance, a concert pianist who suffers from stage fright discovers a note written on his music sheet."

The film stars John Cusack, Elijah Wood and rare appearance of Alex Winter.

Check out the trailer right here:

Enjoy!

MOVIES TO CHECK OUT: Wolf Creek 2

The film synopsis reads, " The outback once more becomes a place of horror as another unwitting tourist becomes the prey for crazed, serial-killing pig-hunter Mick Taylor."

John Jarratt returns as the crazed Mick Taylor, and I must say it is great to see him reprise this role because he clearly is one cool villain.  He is so much fun watching playing the evil Mick.

This film certainly keeps you to the edge of your seat. It has a great level of suspense and to me quite personally it is just as good as the first film in the series.

Check out the trailer, and make sure to go view the movie when you get the chance.

Screw Phillips acquired by Space Coast Comixx

Screw Phillips was a title originally published by The Broken Infinite back in 2013. We’d like to thank them for giving our book a home. Yet the time has come for us to part ways.

Here is a brief synopsis of Screw Phillips.

After years of being in jail, Screw Phillips has finally been released. Once released he slowly slinks back to his old habits, and before long we watch our dark anti-hero plan his ultimate caper. Watch as Screw Phillips prowls the filthy streets of Bridgeton, dealing with the scum of the earth in his own entertaining way.

PHANTASM RETURNS WITH PHANTASM:RAVAGER

If you are a fan of horror films, then you know the film series Phantasm. The series started back in 1979 with A. Michael Baldwin, Angus Scrimm and the ever comedic Reggie Bannister.

After 16 years we finally get the final film in the series: Phantasm: Ravager

Part of me always felt that this series was over, after the last film that used lots of unused stock footage from the original first film and how it tied it off. So it makes me happy to see the original cast come back and make one final film to tie off the series. Here’s hoping it gives us a proper send off.

Strangely, Don Coscarelli isn’t directing. He has just written the script, along with David Hartman who has the directing duties this time. I was at first shocked since Coscarelli had directed all 4 previous entries and I always considered this series his grand opus.

Check out the trailer to the upcoming film. I’m excited. Hope you are too.

ROB LIEFELD PAYS HOMAGE TO HIMSELF

Over on facebook Rob Liefeld has been sharing with his fans a few snippets of his upcoming covers and projects. One such Project is the Brigade reboot he has been working on.

He is quoted saying, " Sooooooo 20 years ago I would provide tight layouts for the young artists in my studio to draw from. It helped maintain a clear level of storytelling and energy that fans were digging. I'm currently giving homage to this sequence from #Bloodstrike#2, 1993 in my new #BRIGADE book. The left is finished by Dan Fraga and Danny Miki over my layout the right is my latest version, pen and ink by #robliefeld"
Isn't that cool or what? Say what you will about Rob Liefeld, he is a busy comic creator. He has various covers, interior pages and he attends a lot of events and he certainly loves his fans. I just look seeing how he takes his previous work and recreates it for his latest book he is working on. Keep up creating sir!!

Comic Watch: FATMAN # 1

FATMAN TO THE RESCUE

Fatman issue 1.
Copyright- Anthony Faella 2014
I meet up with the awesome Anthony Faella today at Famous Faces & Funnies over in W. Melbourne FL today. Had a awesome interview with Anthony and he gave me some of his comics to review. The next few days I will be reviewing his titles and here is the first book in his series.

His comic measures about 8.5X11, it is a homegrown comic series that he self-publishes. He draws and colors it. You don't see many comics like this on the shelves at all. You mostly get the real polished comics that are produced by the big two and many indies out there.

This comic series is the camcorder version of comic books out there, a old folk like comic that used to be made during the old wild west days.

The comics on the shelves with other titles over at Famous
Faces & Funnies.
Copyright- Anthony Faella 2014

SPOILERS

I read through the entire issue and I will tell you truthfully I enjoyed the series. It made me laugh as I read about a hero who got into a brawl with the evil villain Euchre, who murdered the Police Chief and had the Mayor captive. Once Fatman got down to it, he whooped the guy to a bloody mess, and he ran off with the Mayor who later scolds him by committing an illegal act of vigilantism.

Ultimately he gets a key from the Mayor who later closes his eyes asking him to leave. Fatman, runs off for some frosty drinks and runs into a evil seductress known as Sireen that likes our hero. However, he avoids her advances and goes on his merry way. It ends with a laugh as a little mischief is played out with a new introduction being made in the very end.

My overall feelings.

Yes the art is simple, but it works because it flows from page to page. A very easy read, and entertaining. I enjoyed it and I look forward reading the next issue tomorrow.

Truth or Rumor? Mario Gully’s Dirty Bones goes to Image

Rumor has it that Superstar Artist Mario Gully’s (Original Mario Gully aka O.M.G) comic book Dirty Bones has been picked up by Image comics. This would be Mario Gully’s second time having a title picked up by Image comics. His first original series ANT was published by Image several years ago. He had his comic Dirty Bones originally setup at Kickstarter, but did not achieve funding, but that did not dismay O.M.G at all because he  had optimistic publishers reaching out to him during his Kickstarter campaign.

The work alone speaks volumes, you can see the level of detail and attention O.M.G has given this project the last several months. I for one am very pleased to hear this news, as I’m a huge fan of his.

We here from Space Coast Comixx, wish him well, and many years of continued success. You’ve earned this all by the hard work and determination. Good luck and hope to talk with him very soon. Good luck Mario Gully and break some legs buddy.
